There are many different systems and processes used around the globe to determine a person’s preferred personality or behavioral characteristics. The value of any one system or process depends largely on the competency, insight, and ethics of the administrator as well as how the process matches the needs of the organization.

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Marston’s Profile Analysis (DISC) are two of the most widely utilized processes for determining behavioral tendencies and can be applied across a wide range of management functions.
